Two months from “now” always seems like a long time away. Can you imagine if you were given two whole months off from work, school, or whatever it is that keeps you busy against your will, and you could do whatever you wanted? You could conquer the world in two months. Or at least make a dent in your garage cleanup.
By contrast, two months in the past always seems like just a few hours ago. You blink and suddenly eight full weekends have passed you by. And what do you have to show for it? Well, hopefully you have something like this to show for it:
With the exception of the vacation blip, that’s not a bad graph. People always come up to me and say, “Charlie, how do you do it? How did you suddenly get back on track so quickly and get such good results in a short amount of time?” And I say to them, “Who the *bleep* are you! Get away from my limo!!!”
Last week went okay. Although the prior week showed the larger delta, and although both weeks more or less ended up in the same spot, I feel pretty good about things. And I’m tantalizingly close to breaking the next weight “decade.”
Week Eight | |
Starting Weight | 233.0 |
Current Weight | 220.9 |
Lost So Far | 12.1 |
Pounds To Go | 21.9 |
My current weight is listed to the 10th of a pound. That isn’t because I bought some new fancy scale, but because I’m going back to reporting weekly weights as a seven day average. It just makes more sense at this phase and evens out the weekly anomalies. That will help me hide the Halloween damage three weeks from now and the buttered movie theater popcorn damage forty days from now.

Morning Charlie 🙂
Yikes, you’ve overtaken me by 0.1 lbs!! 🙁
My weekly drop is decreasing; in 8 weeks, only lost 7lbs! But every other weekend I’m full on drunk, so I shouldn’t really complain…lol
Stats so far:
Loss on train: 7lbs
Total loss: 12lbs
Pounds to go: 20lbs
Realistically, we’re not going to meet this goal by xmas, are we? 🙁 I think early on I was overly ambitious and dreaming of a consistent 2lb weekly loss. But hey, lets try for 10lbs?
I must admit, I’m feeling good too. People are starting to notice and I can fit into my second pair of goal jeans; I seem to be doing better on inches than lbs 😀
Have a great week everyone,
Anna 😉

I’m sure they are! Walking around without pants on was probably a bad idea in the first place.

As an engineer – I love the graphs!
Keep it up Charlie- maybe that graph will crash on through those most wonderful days of the year -Hallothankchristmasnewyears!

You so rock!! I’ll be the one huffing and puffing trying to chase the limo!! Love the graphs. If I did a graph, it would look like I’m dead. Straightline.

Forty days from now? New Potter movie comes out then or what? I am sweating tomorrow when Iron Man 2 blu-ray rental disc hits our mail.
The Hub has been waiting not so patiently for this movie since it hit PayPerView first.
So long dinner conversation of any sort. Hello deafening explosions and dining by the light of the flames displayed on the TV.
I swear, meals eaten in front of movies on TV seem to pack twice the caloric punch. You think talking to our family members burns THAT many calories?

Harry Potter it is. In fact, as of today (10/11/10) it’s one month, one week, and one day away. I’m definitely saving up my popcorn allowance.

Sweet!
(oops, maybe that wasn’t the right term with Halloween candy lurking)
