Sorry, Folks!

I know all the cool kids have been pulling for me for weeks now. And I know that tension has doubled over the last two weeks as I drew near to the big goal. But unfortunately I’m forced to admit another week has gone by fully stuck in Twoderland. (Twoderland?)

In times of defeat, and especially when there’s clearly no one else to blame, members of our species tend to point fingers. “It’s not my fault!” goes the mantra. I’ve always viewed this as a sign of weakness and insecurity. That said, I am also no exception: I fully blame Hallmark for inventing the Day Of Chocolate. And also BJ’s Brewhouse for serving me beer.

But that’s just one day (not to mention the end of the story). Let’s look at the whole week, shall we?

Monday. The week started out well. I’d detected “carb fever” returning last Sunday so declared Monday my Second Fasting Day of 2009. I did not experience as dramatic a weight loss as the first time, but as I’m fond of pointing out, I don’t do it to lose weight. I do it to break the carb crave cycle.

Tuesday. There was beer and fries and chicken fingers at the end of the day. Nice “break-fast”, huh?

Wednesday. Do not follow up a fast with piles of fries because on Wednesday you’ll be back to craving the way you were on Sunday.

Thursday. Higher order brain functions prevail!

Friday and Saturday. Both good weigh-in days: two in a row at 200.5. Could it be? Could we actually be on the verge of breaking The Barrier?

Sunday. Nope.

Here you go. Bright red line is this week. Dark red line is last week, for comparison.

Day 203
Starting Weight 224.0
Current Weight 202.5
Change from Last Week 0.0
Lost So Far 21.5
Pounds To Go 3.5

So I started the week at 202.5 and ended it there, even after skimming 200.5 for two days. One day I lost 1.5 pounds and another day I gained 2.0 pounds. So, in short, I’d say it’s business as usual. The good news is, I don’t see any holidays in the near future.

Why I’d say, odds are by this time next week, I’ll have my first foot in Onederland.
