Ready For Round Four?

Post ImageWelcome to Back to the Fridge 4.0. For those of you not keeping score at home, here’s the deal: for the better part of a year, I posted five times a week, then caught a bad case of blogfunk last May and finally took the summer off, more or less.

But I’m back! A bit later than intended, but, hey, better late than never, right? So what’s new? Well, I’m glad you asked. Here’s what’s in store for you, the dedicated cool kids:

Content Changes

  • While I attracted the bulk of my readership with dieting and food related content, I’ve decided to open things up a bit. In short, I simply don’t want to be defined as “the weight guy.” I am (or at least want to be) a writer. Weight loss was a topic, not my very existence.
  • These posts don’t write themselves! It’s obvious that unless I force myself to post regularly, there won’t be a lot of content here. Last week I held the first ever Back To The Fridge Developer Conference (attendance: one) and we unanimously agreed to post regularly on all days that begin with T.

Look and Feel Changes

  • Back to the Fridge is back to the clean, white look of Version 2 which I liked so much (and missed).
  • Back down to two columns. Three was too busy.
  • Improved right-hand sidebar, including a random post link and site search.
  • A spectacular new all posts page.
  • Old newsletter retired. I have offloaded the email burden to Feedburner. If you want to receive Back to the Fridge via email, sign up over on the right. This means you, Deb.

Blogapology

Not only did I drop off the face of the blogosphere over the last few months, I also stopped visiting others’ blogs. There just hasn’t been enough time in the day for it. And on the very few days where there was a little bit of time, I elected to spend it eating frosting out of a can and watching re-runs of Three’s Company.

So to Roni, John, Deb, Carla, Megan, Jennette, Nick, Kath, Crabby, the Women Formerly Known as Greta and Kiki, Tom, the erstwhile topmost commenter on BTTF, Pants and more Pants, and especially my sisters, each of whom is far prettier than the other one, Biz and Jenn, and to all my dedicated readers and even more dedicated commenters and all the people I should have remembered here but didn’t — I offer a big ol’ blogapology.

Now this is the point where you’d expect me to make amends by saying I’ll start reading all your blogs daily again. But, to be honest, I’ve gotta get back to the frosting and the shenanigans at Apartment 201.

See you all Thursday.

It’s just in the air or something. I slacked on blogging most of the summer, then decided I was sick of nothing but weight loss and exercise, tired of blogging and then decided I needed a change. Moved my blog, renamed it, decided ramblings about weight loss, gardening, cats and life were all A-OK. Now I have hardly any readers left, but I’m happy again. Go figure.

Aww, dang…so we won’t get to take turns smacking you around then?

No worries, sugar…sometimes life takes precedence over Blogopolis.

What flavor frosting?

And do you think Chrissy’s shorts were actually painted on??

No Blogapology needed my friend. Keep doing what you are doing.

However I do expect your presence at up and coming blogger event that shall remain nameless. ;P

Well, first I want to say that I’m so glad you called me “more Pants” versus just “the other Pants.” I hate it when people say “the other…” and then whatever name they’re happening to call me at the time.

Next, YAY! πŸ™‚ Welcome back. And I like and appreciate that you are broadening your topics. I think that’s fun. I actually have two different ones for those very reasons.

Lastly, I’ve missed you.

Welcome back. I did read the few and far between posts over these few months and always wished for more. Surely you will keep us updated on your weight travails once in a while? And a recipe now and then?

Well, well, does this mean film reviews and live blogging of reality TV shows?
Whatev. I like how you write so I’ll be around for the fun.

Welcome Back Charlie

Welcome back,
Your dreams were your ticket out.

Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about.

Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they’re turned around.

Who’d have thought they’d lead ya (Who’d have thought they’d lead ya)
Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya)

Yeah we tease him a lot cause we’ve hot him on the spot, welcome back,
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

Welcome back, Charlie! I’m sure I’ll enjoy your new blog direction, wherever you and your Muse take it….

Wow – comments referencing Welcome Back Mr Kotter, Three’s Company, Nirvana AND Sesame Street (hope I didn’t miss any). What a cool and wonderfully culturally divers readership you’ve attracted Charlie. I’m pretty sure that means you can write about whatever you damn well please and we’ll stick because a lot like you, we are here for the writing more than the topic.

AND because that weight you lost? I’m pretty sure I found it!

Looking forward to my T/Ths (and YES I got all re-signed up, thank you very much).

PS – If you decided you wanted to write on an occasional “Thunday” it wouldn’t bother me any. Just sharing. Bye!

I was going to buy a million dollar advertisement on this blog and then you stopped blogging so I spent the money on Oreo cookies instead.

We missed you and glad you’re back!
