What astonishes me is that Christy goes to NYC and eats at Olive Garden.

Right up the road not far from the Dumont Hotel (E 34th & Park Ave) in Murray Hill, there is a really authentic neighborhood Italian restaurant. I think it was on 3rd Ave, just south of 34th.

If it is good enough for Manhattan locals, I figured it was going to be just fine. I wasn't disappointed.

A restaurant that charges admission? That's a new one.

I love NYC, but yeah, it's easy to get ripped off in touristy areas. Small neighborhood places are the best, but if you're just in town briefly they're harder to find.

I'm new here, but what a great blog!

Helen: You're astonished? I was the one who had to endure this in real life. Don't worry, though. The entire week wasn't a bust. :)

Biz: If I'd known before going in what I was getting into, I probably would have skipped it altogether. We mostly went because of the $25 coupon. It still would have been too much money. And I definitely should have skipped the cheese sticks.
