Return to Return to Onederland

Post ImageFirst Thursday of the month: time to reluctantly report in. Astute readers may have noticed the reappearance of “Return to Onederland” in the post title. Yep, I can’t pretend I’m mostly still in Onederland and “just over a bit.” No, based on the last couple weeks and what’s surely ahead, it’s time to return to Return to Onederland.

As you can see from the wonderful graphic image I created for today’s post, Day One #95 began this week. Why? Well, you already know why. It looks something like this:

Man! This is what the graph is supposed to look like after New Year’s Day. Not the week after Turkey Day.

Week 1
Start Date Dec 1, 2009
Starting Weight 207.0
Current Weight 206.5
Lost So Far 0.5 lbs

The plan now is, of course, to hold it together as best I can until through the holidays. The real Christmas Miracle would be to wake up January 4 and find myself hovering around 200. I could be happy kicking off 2010 with that kind of a number. In second place would be: just holding where I am. Worst case would be . . . well, you already know what worst case looks like.

So here goes! Next post in this category will be January 7, 2010. And good luck to everyone until then. We’ll need it!

We can do this Chowlee! I am hoping a 5 pound weight loss this holiday season – but I still might make my pumpkin pancakes over Christmas!

Right there with you Charlie. I’m hoping to not weight more on December 31 than I did on January 1. It’s gonna be close.

C’mon Charlie, it’s only one day! You dont have to overeat for the whole month! Put those cheezits down and eat an apple. You can do it!

It boils down to a simple question for me. Will I be happier spending my holidays (over)focused on how many calories there are in every bite I eat over the next few weeks with the idea I am saving me from myself, or…. will I be happier facing whatever weight gain happens, taking a deep breath in January, and eating less once the holiday cookies/candies/treats season is safely behind me again.

Typically the answer to that question varies daily, so my approach vacillates between “no, thanks” and “more, please!” all December long.

Seriously, if I can’t be a JOLLY heavy person, then what’s the point?
